CRR 140 - Orientation and Safety

This is an orientation and safety course for Auto Collision Repair. Students will be oriented to the college and department procedures, policies, and expectations pertaining to safety expectations in all areas of the shop and tool use. Topics include college and department expectations, functions and regulations, employee and community right-to-know, hazard communication and the laws and regulations governing the handling of hazardous materials and waste.

SLOs:
Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

Recognize the college procedures, programs and policies as well as the college activities and services available to them.
Demonstrate acceptable conduct regarding departmental shop practices and procedures.
Practice safe working habits when using hand or power tools and equipment.
Identify the personal protective equipment required when utilizing hazardous materials.
List the regulations governing the handling, storage, use and disposal of hazardous materials and waste.
