CIS 606 - Visual BASIC.NET I Credit(s) 3.00 Lecture Hours: 2.00 Lab Hours: 2.00 This course provides a strong foundation in essential aspects of Visual Basic.NET. Topics will include user interface design, logic development, and object-oriented programming techniques. Students will develop business applications for Windows and Web with multiple forms, arrays, and simple data access.
Prerequisite(s): Completion of or concurrent enrollment in CIS 121 . SLOs: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Apply the fundamentals of the Microsoft Visual Basic programming language.
- Apply graphical user interface design principles.
- Execute Visual Basic application that is deployed on multiple platforms such as mobile computers (tablets) and webpages.
- Demonstrate how to implement logic involving sequence, selection, and repetition using Visual Basic 2017.
- Analyze code in the application development process to identify any possible errors that may produce wrong output.
- Examine code in the application development process to ensure accuracy of the output.
- Write useful, well-designed programs for personal computers and mobile computers that solve practical business problems.
- Create interactive Web applications that can be delivered and executed on the Internet on any device from scratch or using built-in templates.
- Demonstrate how to prevent errors by managing exceptions.
- Define classes for making programs more robust.
- Design visual basic programs by using arrays and files that handle data.
