BUS 106 - Employment Strategy Credit(s) 2.00 Lecture Hours: 2.00 This course allows students to focus on their individual career targets, while developing successful lifetime job search skills and career management tools. Students will also learn job search techniques, such as completing employment applications, preparing letters of application and resumes, and participating in a mock interview.
SLOs: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Assess their occupational qualifications.
- Identify the best job and career choices.
- Use the Internet to increase their job search success.
- Prepare a resume, cover letter, and employment application.
- Research prospective employers and their career field.
- Succeed in the application process.
- Follow up with an interview successfully.
- Adjust quickly and achieve peak success in a new job.
- Apply techniques on the job that result in maximum career advancement.
