ACC 146 - Managerial Accounting Credit(s) 3.00 Lecture Hours: 3.00 This course emphasizes financial statement analysis, including the reporting of cash flows, and managerial accounting as it relates to decision-making and to the manufacturing environment. This course serves as a foundation for other accounting courses for students planning careers in accounting, as well as providing for the needs for students in business administration.
Prerequisite(s): ACC 142 SLOs: Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Explain Statement of Cash Flows and Financial Statement analysis.
- Prepare a Statement of Cash Flows.
- Analyze a Financial Statement.
- Explain general concepts and principles of managerial accounting.
- Describe costing systems, activity-based costing, product costing, and relevant costs.
- Demonstrate the use of Cost-Volume-Profit Analysis for decision making.
- Describe the managerial accountant’s role in the decision-making process.
- Prepare a flexible budget.
- Explain the nature and importance of capital investment analysis.
- Explain the importance of time value of money in capital-budgeting decisions.
