Campus: Scott Community College

The Mechanical Design Technology program prepares students with the skills of computer-aided design (CAD), critical thinking, problem-solving, math, science, team building and communication, needed for today’s manufacturing jobs.

The Mechanical Design Technology program includes proficiencies required by industry that applies directly to the world of work.

The Solid Modeling Certificate provides students with training specific to the SolidWorks computer-aided drafting software. Four courses teach skills related to modeling, assembly, detailing, and applications. A fifth and final course provides students with preparation for the Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA) exam. All five courses also apply toward the Mechanical Design AAS if the student opts to continue in the AAS for more hands-on experience.
