Information Technology - Cybersecurity, AAS

Campus: Clinton, Muscatine, and Scott Community Colleges, and Online

Cybersecurity Specialists are responsible for securing and protecting information assets. They are required to preserve information confidentiality, integrity, availability and authenticity. This program is designed to develop a skilled workforce in the expanding field of cybersecurity. It is based on the concepts, principles, methods, techniques and procedures recommended by industry-specific programs. Graduates are prepared to test for the following industry certifications: A+, Network+, Security+, Linux+, Microsoft Security MTA, Ethical Hacking Associate, Cyber Forensics Associate.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the Information Technology - Cybersecurity program, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate essential networking skills including installing, configuring, securing, and troubleshooting a network.
  2. Apply knowledge of information security best practices.
  3. Apply ethical standards in the practice of cybersecurity.
  4. Analyze and evaluate the cybersecurity needs of an organization.
  5. Implement cybersecurity solutions.
  6. Collaborate with others in a technical environment.
