Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning, Diploma

Campus: Scott Community College

The Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning program provides all of the skills necessary to gain meaningful employment as an entry-level Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) technician. Students obtain extensive hands-on experience in the repair, maintenance and installation of a wide variety of heating, air conditioning, refrigeration and ventilation systems.

The Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning program is accredited by HVAC Excellence.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning program, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate electrical safety practices.
  2. Demonstrate an understanding of how to utilize a multimeter.
  3. Analyze the refrigeration cycle and components.
  4. Compare types and components of furnaces.
  5. Evaluate a heat pump’s design and configuration for both the heating and cooling cycle.
