Engineering Technology, Process Control Concentration, AAS


Campus: Clinton, Muscatine, and Scott Community Colleges

All students enrolled in the Engineering Technology Associates of Applied Science (AAS) program begin by taking an identical set of courses for the first four terms. For the fifth and final term, students will take a series courses in one of three concentration areas - Automation Concentration, Electromechanical Concentration or Process Control Concentration. Students selecting the Automation concentration will take Industrial Robotics, Motion Control and Microcontrollers as well as select two courses from the other specialties. Students selecting the Electromechanical concentration will take Motion Control, Fluid Power Design & Application, and Fluid Power Control as well as selecting two courses from the other specialties. Students selecting the Process Control concentration will take Process Control I, Process Control II and Introduction to General Chemistry as well as select two courses from the other specialties.

This degree will prepare highly skilled and needed workers for area manufacturers. The government projects that by the year 2018, Iowa’s advanced manufacturing segment will experience a significant shortage of skilled workers due to older worker retirement and the nation’s increasing need for Iowa products.
