HSC 137 - Math for Healthcare Credit(s) 3.00 Lecture Hours: 3.00 This course is designed for Allied Health Care profession majors. The course will cover general development of skills involving computations of fractions, decimals, percents, ratios, proportions, basic algebra equations, mean, median, and mode. Allied health areas that will be covered include how to utilize graphs, when fractions and decimals are utilized in healthcare settings, allied health statistics, and how to figure deductibles and co-payments for health insurance. Students will also learn how to calculate mass and volume of medications, and common dose measurement and dose abbreviations.
