HIT 596 - HIT Practicum I

This course provides supervised clinical experience in health care settings. As a distance learning student, the clinic site will be arranged for the student by Instructor unless the instructor informs the student otherwise. Site will be chosen based on proximity to the student and availability of HIT-trained, on-site supervisor(s). Emphasis will be placed on practical application of basic concepts in the health care setting. Upon completion, the student should be able to apply basic health information management theory to health care facility practices. 19.8 Lec. Hrs. / 59.4 Clinical Hrs.

Prerequisite(s): A minimum grade of C- in HIT 250 and HIT 380.
