LIT 130 - African American Literature Credit(s) 3.00 Lecture Hours: 3.00 This course is a survey of African American literature beginning in the 18th century and continuing into the present. Genres will include the short story, poetry, the novel, and drama. Emphasis is placed on formal, thematic, historical, cultural, and critical elements of African American literature, as well as the relationship between African American literature and the human condition. This course satisfies a general education requirement in the Arts and Humanities Area.This course has been designated as diversity rich.
Prerequisite(s): ENG 105 or ENG 107
