HIS 271 - American Frontier History Credit(s) 3.00 Lecture Hours: 3.00 The course is a study of European migration to North America, with a focus upon the interaction within settlements on the frontier. Emphasis is upon political, cultural, and economic developments in the North American Atlantic seaboard colonies, the trans-Appalachian region, and the trans-Mississippian regions. Comparative study is emphasized with the patterns of frontier culture in the Far West of the post-bellum period.
