CAD 295 - 3D Scanning Credit(s) 3.00 Lecture Hours: 2.00 Lab Hours: 2.00 This course will introduce students to various types of 3D scanning methods and equipment. Using these methods and equipment, students can generate point clouds of information or data. This data can be used to create 3-dimensional models of objects or structures, and to reverse engineer objects. Students may also use additive manufacturing equipment or 3D printers to create physical representations of scanned data. Scanned data can be used in quality control and inspection, prototyping, crime scene re-creation, historical preservation, and many other uses.
Prerequisite(s): CAD 290 Recommended and Non-Course Requisites: CAD 140
