This program prepares students for careers in advanced manufacturing, industrial automation, and robotic systems integration. Students will develop expertise in electrical and mechanical systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), robotics, industrial networking, and process control. Through a blend of classroom instruction and lab-based projects, graduates will be equipped to install, program, troubleshoot, and maintain automated systems that drive modern industry. 

 

Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs)

Upon completion of the program in Automation and Robotics, students will be able to: 

  1. Exhibit safe working practices in laboratory and industrial environments.
  2. Properly use tools and electrical test equipment to verify correct installation and operation of electrical and mechanical systems.
  3. Identify faulty components and sub-systems in order to return apparatus to proper operation.
  4. Interpret technical documents to aid in the installation and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical systems.
  5. Effectively communicate technical information in oral and written formats common in industry.
  6. Demonstrate time management and reliability traits that will enhance performance in the workplace.
