Industrial Maintenance Technician, AAS

This program prepares students to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair the complex systems that keep modern manufacturing and industrial facilities running. Blending mechanical, electrical, and automation skills, this program develops versatile technicians who can work across multiple technologies in high-demand industries. Students gain hands-on experience with mechanical drives, fluid power systems, electrical circuits, motor controls, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs). The curriculum emphasizes practical problem-solving and preventative maintenance strategies to ensure equipment reliability and efficiency. 

 

Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs)

Upon completion of the program in Industrial Maintenance Technician, students will be able to: 

  1. Exhibit safe working practices in laboratory and industrial environments.
  2. Properly use tools and electrical test equipment to verify correct installation and operation of electrical and mechanical systems.
  3. Identify faulty components and sub-systems in order to return apparatus to proper operation.
  4. Interpret technical documents to aid in the installation and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical systems.
  5. Effectively communicate technical information in oral and written formats common in industry.
  6. Demonstrate time management and reliability traits that will enhance performance in the workplace.
