Communication Transfer Major, AA

Campus: Clinton, Muscatine, and Scott Community Colleges

Are you interested in the study and practice of human communication? The transfer major in Communication has been designed to provide a broad education with emphasis in communication theory and practice, ranging from interpersonal to understanding the role of media in our society. This program is for students interested in transferring to a four-year institution with a major related to Communication.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the Communication Transfer Major program, students will be able to:

Examine complexities and connection of culture, identity, and perception in communication.
Implement interpersonal and intercultural communication strategies for a variety of contexts.
Analyze mass media’s effect on society.
Demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills in professional communication.
Prepare and deliver effective informative and persuasive extemporaneous public presentations.
