Nurse Aide, Certificate

Campus: Clinton, Muscatine & Scott Community Colleges

This program will train individuals in the fundamentals of direct patient care. This is the core program upon which individuals may begin direct patient care and later be prepared to access the multi-level career courses for Certified Nurse Aides.

Classroom theory, laboratory practice, and clinical experience will be incorporated to prepare the student to address the patient’s physical, social, and emotional needs. Students successfully completing this course will be awarded a CNA 75-hour course certificate.

Students will also be prepared to take the State written and skills exams to be placed on the Iowa Direct Care Workers Registry should they desire. Students must be 16 years of age to attend clinical.
