Information Technology - Web Development, AAS

Campus: Clinton, Muscatine, and Scott Community Colleges, and Online

Graduates of the Web Development AAS will be prepared to design and create, update, and maintain web pages and full websites using web development and scripting languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ASP, and PHP among others. They will have the skills and abilities to manage the look of the site and the site’s technical aspects, such as performance and capacity. They could create content for the web site, create graphics, and manage the web servers.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the Information Technology - Web Development program, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate proficiency in using industry standard tools and techniques.
  2. Create a website, using Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), Cascading Style Sheet (CSS), And JavaScript.
  3. Publish a website.
  4. Maintain a website.
  5. Manage web content for a website.
  6. Explain programming logic.
  7. Build database-backed web applications.
  8. Utilize troubleshooting methods.
  9. Collaborate with others in a technical environment.
