CNC Programmer, Diploma

The Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Programmer diploma program prepares graduates with the skills needed to gain employment as an entry-level CNC machine programmer. Coursework will develop knowledge and skills in manual and CNC machining, computer aided design (CAD), and computer aided manufacturing (CAM) using applied instructional techniques.

The CNC Programmer Diploma includes proficiencies required by industry. Learning is hands-on in our modern laboratory furnished with the same types of equipment used by local manufacturing plants.

Program Learning Outcomes 

Upon completion of the CNC Programmer program, students will be able to: 

  1. Use computer-aided drafting (CAD) programs to generate digital models. 
  2. Safely set up and run computerized machine tools. 
  3. Generate and troubleshoot G code and M code (G&M) code programs by hand. 
  4. Apply mathematical concepts to solve machining problems. 
  5. Use computers to generate machine-readable code for computerized machine tools.
