Information Technology - Networking for Systems and Security, AAS

The Information Technology - Networking for Systems and Security AAS award provides students with fundamental skills in planning, installing, and maintaining organizations’ computer networks. Students will learn to troubleshoot both hardware and software, analyze problems, provide support for users, and monitor network resources. Students completing the Networking for Systems and Security program will have the knowledge to earn industry-recognized certifications, such as CCNA Operating System, Security, and Server Certifications. Graduates of the Networking for Systems and Security program will be prepared for work as network, helpdesk, and security technicians.

Program Learning Outcomes 

Upon completion of the Information Technology - Networking for Systems and Security program, students will be able to: 

  1. Demonstrate essential networking skills including installing and configuring the network. 
  2. Secure and troubleshoot a network. 
  3. Collaborate with others in a technical environment. 
  4. Continue their education through technical training and certification. 
  5. Demonstrate the basic knowledge and practical skills needed to install and support computer operating systems. 
  6. Demonstrate basic knowledge of cloud computing operations.
