Practical Nursing, Diploma

Campus: Clinton, Muscatine, and Scott Community Colleges

The curriculum of Eastern Iowa Community College’s Practical Nurse (PN) program of study prepares students to care for the sick, injured, convalescent and disabled, under the supervision of physicians and registered nurses. With just one year of formal preparation in the practical nursing program, students are academically qualified to take the NCLEX (National Council Licensure Examination) for Practical Nursing. The Nursing program is accredited by the Iowa Board of Nursing.

In addition to the general admission requirements of the college, applicants to this program must meet specific program admission criteria. The application process and admission requirements for the Nursing programs can be found at www.eicc.edu/nursing.

Students who successfully complete this Diploma program are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for Practical Nursing.

Nursing courses in the first two semesters can be taken at Clinton, Muscatine or Scott Community Colleges. Remaining nursing courses can be taken at Clinton or Scott Community Colleges.
