This course is a practical overview of electrical machine control related to circuit design, maintenance and troubleshooting. It addresses the diversity of control devices and applications examining both current practices and continuing technological evolution of the control industry. Includes hands-on applications for wiring of AC and DC electric motors.  No

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Define DC and AC series motors.
  • Calculate motor performance.
  • Demonstrate different wiring configurations for motors.
  • Demonstrate how to troubleshoot AC/DC motors.
  • Apply knowledge of conductors, disconnects and overcurrent protection systems.
  • Demonstrate wiring techniques for different applications.
