MAT 102 - Intermediate Algebra Credit(s) 4.00 Lecture Hours: 4.00 This course covers topics including factoring, rational expressions, inequalities and absolute value equations, rational exponents and radicals, quadratic equations and inequalities, and exponential and logarithmic functions.
This course will not count towards a general mathematics requirement. It will only satisfy a general education elective credit. No
Prerequisite(s): A minimum grade of C- in or minimum math placement score based on college assessment within the last two years. Immediate prerequisite must have been completed within the last two years. SLOs: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Simplify nonlinear expressions.
- Solve nonlinear equations.
- Use appropriate techniques to solve quadratic equations.
