ATR 145 - Introduction to Industrial Robotics Credit(s) 2.00 Lecture Hours: 1.00 Lab Hours: 2.00 This course allows the student to explore the history and evolution of industrial robotics, the basic parts of a robotic work cell, robot motion and input/output programming, safe interaction with robot while programming, robot power systems and basic robot troubleshooting and maintenance procedures. While in the lab the student will program industrial robots to perform various functions.
Prerequisite(s): SLOs: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Define the terms associated with industrial robots and work cells.
- Explain each major part of an industrial robot.
- Program an industrial robot to do basic tasks.
- Identify the major and minor axis of motion of a robot.
- Demonstrate basic maintenance practices for industrial robots.
- Solve problems in a robotic work cell.
- Explain possible solutions to robotic work cell problems.
