WEL 361 - Intro to Welding Credit(s) 2.00 Lecture Hours: 1.00 Lab Hours: 2.00 This course introduces fundamental welding techniques through a blended approach that incorporates both Virtual Reality (VR) welding simulations and traditional hands-on welding practices. Students will develop foundational skills in various welding processes while learning proper techniques, safety protocols, and industry-standard practices. Emphasis is placed on building technical proficiency, understanding welding theory, and applying learned skills in both simulated and real-world environments.

Corequisite(s): SLOs: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate safe practices in Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) process with welding VR simulators.
- Produce entry-level welding skills in GMAW and SMAW process on welding VR simulators.
- Acquire skills from VR simulator to produce quality welds in welding lab.
