AVR 235 - Environmental Modeling Credit(s) 3.00 Lecture Hours: 2.00 Lab Hours: 2.00 This course will cover how to build environments for both games and simulations. Students will learn how to design an environment level using primitive modeling techniques; populate environments with advanced texture techniques; and use texture software and shaders to create an unique environment. Assigned projects will enhance learning of organic modeling with a focus on environmental elements.
Prerequisite(s): SLOs: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Design environment and world layouts for application.
- Generate environments with modeling software.
- Demonstrate advanced texture techniques for building environments.
- Construct rigging and animation for environment assets.
- Predict when and how to implement shaders.
- Optimize scene for different platforms.
