This course provides an introduction to Object-Oriented Programming. Students will learn how to create classes, objects, and applications using the Java language. Topics also include the language fundamentals, and the Java language API (Application Programming Interface API).

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Define variables and constants in Java. 

  • Perform calculations and format numbers. 

  • Use object orientated programming to write Java code 

  • Use decisions and conditions in Java code. 

  • Use Looping and selections in Java code 

  • Create arrays in Java code. 

  • Handle Exceptions in Java code 

  • Use files for input and output 

  • Create GUI programs using swing components
