ART 120 - 2-D Design Credit(s) 3.00 Lecture Hours: 2.00 Lab Hours: 2.00 This course is an introductory design class exploring visual organization, form, content, and creative problem solving in two-dimensional (2-D) pictorial design. Using a variety of art media, students will investigate the definition and expression of design as both a noun and a verb. Students will deepen their understanding of the visual elements as they relate to good design through the creative process.
SLOs: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the fundamentals of visual organization in two-dimensional design.
- Apply the visual elements to create good pictorial design.
- Apply the use of a wide range of media to create convincing two-dimensional design.
- Create intentional, effective solutions to visual problems in design.
