A 13 - Tuition Reimbursement
Employee Tuition Reimbursement
Regular full-time employees of the District may request tuition reimbursement for coursework at EICCD colleges providing, however, that the request is:
- Limited to a maximum of six credit hours of instruction per term or 60 c education contact hours per term, or an equivalent combination of both.
- Approved by the employee’s immediate supervisor.
- Submitted on the Employee Tuition Reimbursement form provided for that purpose.
- For a class in which there is space available.
- For a course which may be completed on the employee’s own time, except in those cases where enrollment is deemed essential for improvement and is employer-initiated. Release time for course work that is not employer initiated must be made up within the same week.
- Not in addition to reimbursement being received for this course from any other source.
- The person must be an employee at the completion of the class.
Tuition reimbursement will be made following satisfactory completion of the course and upon receipt of the completed employee tuition reimbursement form in the Human Resources Office. This form will be forwarded to the Business Office for payment. For purposes of this policy, tuition reimbursement shall include class fees charged for continuing education coursework. EICC tuition reimbursement will not be in addition to reimbursement being received for this course form any other source. Dependent Tuition Reimbursement
The dependent children* of a regular full-time contracted faculty, administrative, professional support, and other non-contracted district employee may request tuition reimbursement for credit coursework at its colleges. The request must be submitted on the appropriate form and be approved by the employee’s immediate supervisor. *For purposes of this policy, dependent child shall mean 1) is not married, 2) lives with you, 3) receives over half of his/her support from you and your present or former spouse, 4) is either under 19 years of age or is a full-time student, or 5) is either physically or mentally disabled. However, the disability must have occurred before age 19. Eligible children include: natural children, legally adopted children, stepchildren, and foster children.

Spouse Tuition Reimbursement
The legal spouse of a regular full-time contracted faculty, administrative, professional support, and other non-contracted district employee may request tuition reimbursement for credit course work at its colleges. The request must be submitted on the appropriate form and be approved by the employee’s immediate supervisor.
