BP 704 - Budget Publication and Public Review

The Board of Trustees shall adopt for publication purposes an approved budget for the ensuing fiscal year. This approved budget shall be filed with the Secretary of the Board at least twenty (20) days prior to March 14 of each year.

The Board of Trustees shall cause this approved budget to be published and shall establish and publish the time when and the place where a public hearing shall be held for the purpose of public review of the budget document. This public hearing shall be held not later than the 14th day of March of each year and a notice of the public hearing shall be published at least ten (10) days prior to such hearing.

The verified proof of the publication of such notice together with the certified budget shall be filed in the office of the county auditor and preserved by the auditor. No levy shall be valid unless and until such notice is published and filed.
