EP 601 - Statement of Guiding Principles

The District subscribes to the philosophy that each student should be given the opportunity to develop his or her human resources to the maximum of his or her capabilities, talents and diligence. A major goal of the District is to provide a flexible educational environment which will satisfy the needs of those who desire a liberal arts or pre-professional education, and those youth and adults who desire specialized training, retraining, enrichment and/or improvement of skills or knowledge.

To meet the needs of this heterogeneous clientele, multiple programs shall be provided within each of the major subject areas as well as curricula which are varied according to the abilities, interests and goals of the student population.

The community should become, as far as possible, a laboratory for practical instruction, wherein people and resources of the community are used to supplement the educational program.
