AD 301 - Statement of Guiding Principles

It shall be the policy of the Board of Trustees that the Executive Officer of the Board is the Executive Officer of Eastern Iowa Community College District (Merged Area IX). The Executive Officer is accountable directly to the Board of Trustees and is responsible to them for guiding and directing all operations and activities of EICCD.

THE EXECUTIVE OFFICER, WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF, SHALL:

Establish guidelines for organization of the staff
Select and evaluate personnel
Designate the duties of personnel
Recommend and carry out policies
Evaluate programs and procedures
Provide opportunities for stakeholders to provide advisory input into EICC processes and procedures
Furnish the Board of Trustees with materials and information necessary to make sound judgments
Plan the agenda for each Board meeting
When requested, assist members of the Board in fulfilling the duties of their offices
