BD 241 - Special Meetings

Special Meetings may be held as determined by the Board, or called by the President, or by the Secretary upon the written request of a majority of the members of the Board. Unless otherwise provided by law, notice of Special Meetings shall be given in writing by the Secretary at least 24 hours in advance of such meeting. Notice for Special Meetings called to act upon legal matters such as the issuance of bonds shall be by registered letter. The agenda for all Special Meetings shall be limited to those items for which the special meeting is called.

Public notice of Special Meetings shall be provided at least 24 hours in advance by advising the news media, posting on the college’s website, and posting in an easily accessible public location at the District Office. Said notice shall specify the time, place and purpose of the meeting.

Special Meetings shall be held in the location officially designated for Regular Meetings unless otherwise determined by the Board in a previous legal session or may be held electronically with the consent of the Board. When a meeting is to be held by electronic means, access to members of the public will be afforded at a specified site or via electronic means.
