a. Vacancies which occur more than forty-five days prior to the next regular school election shall be filled by appointment. The person appointed shall serve until the next regular election and the person elected shall then serve out the remainder of the unexpired term, if any, for that Director District.
b. A vacancy which occurs less than forty-five days prior to the next election shall be filled by appointment until the succeeding pending election.
c. The Board President shall appoint a Board Vacancy Committee of three members of the Board and may serve as a member of that committee.
d. The Committee shall review candidates, either persons showing interest in the vacancy or persons solicited by the Committee. All candidates must be residents of the Director District in which the vacancy has occurred.
e. Potential candidates shall be interviewed by the Committee or by a member(s) of the Committee prior to a recommendation to the full Board. The Committee, after reviewing the candidates, shall recommend one candidate to the full board to fill the vacancy.
Vacancies occurring among Board elected or appointed officers shall be filled in the same manner as the original election or appointment. Those officers so elected or appointed by the Board shall serve for the balance of the unexpired term.
