The District is organized and known as EASTERN IOWA COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT and the legal name is Merged Area (Education) IX.

Legal Status

The Board of Trustees of EASTERN IOWA COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT (Merged Area IX) derives its legal status from the Constitution of the State of Iowa and the statutes enacted by the General Assembly. The Board of Trustees acts as an agent of the state in putting an educational program into operation in accordance with the Constitution and laws of the State of Iowa.
