This course is designed for students seeking an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Agriculture. Basic economic concepts, principles, and practices reflected in agriculture will be outlined. Students will also reflect on the major components of an agricultural business organization, and the economic fundamentals involved in organizing, operating, and managing an agricultural business.

SLOs:
Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

  • Understand the various aspects of financial and resource management in a retail setting.

  • Solve complex problems relating to financial management, risk management and risk control, location management, product and service management, and quality control.

  • Discuss the free enterprise system and its relative importance on the retail agribusiness complex.

  • Introduce students to basic retail business structures and how they operate.

  • Discover the role of management and the study of managerial goals and objectives.
