This course introduces students to the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in workplaces. Students successfully completing this course will receive an OSHA 10-Hour General Industry card.

SLOs:
Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

  • Recognize the importance of OSHA in regulating employee safety in the workplace.
  • Summarize employees' rights and employers' responsibilities.
  • Recognize various manufacturing processes, tasks, and equipment
  • Identify basic and health hazards present in the workplace.
  • Implement respective corrective actions.
