This course is the second course in a two semester sequence. The content includes study of the following organ systems or topics: cardiovascular, lymphatic, immune, respiratory, digestive, metabolism, urinary, and reproductive. This course may satisfy a general education requirement in the Natural Sciences Area.

Prerequisite(s): BIO 168  (grade of C or better)

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Develop a vocabulary of appropriate terminology related to anatomy and physiology.

  • Correlate anatomical structures and physiological functions with regard to the cardiovascular, lymphatic, immune, respiratory, digestive, urinary, and reproductive body systems.

  • Examine the role of homeostatic control and the impact of feedback loops in physiological systems of the body.

  • Use critical thinking to evaluate scientific information to make informed decisions.
