WEL 124 - Maintenance Welding

This course is designed for the basic needs of the manufacturing student. It includes instruction and practice in oxyacetylene and plasma cutting, shielded metal arc welding in various positions, and basic gas metal arc welding in various positions. Topics also covered include safe use of welding equipment and machinery, abrasive cut-off saws, shears, grinders, and various tools common to the welding field. The students will safely set up welding equipment, learn how to adjust and operate it, and learn how to weld in all four positions. The learning experience is also enhanced by cutting freehand with the cutting torch. 29.7 Lec. Hrs. / 59.4 Lab Hrs.
