PHI 101 - Introduction to Philosophy Credit(s) 3.00 Lecture Hours: 3.00 This course provides an introduction to the way that philosophy has addressed questions of fundamental concern, both historically and today. These questions include: What is real? What is human nature? What is the meaning of life? What is knowledge? And what is morally right or wrong? Particular emphasis is placed on providing students with vivid illustrations of the enduring nature and value of philosophy, by showing them how philosophy can be applied to contemporary issues of personal and social concern. This course satisfies a general education requirement in the Arts and Humanities Area.
