This course introduces students to Global Positioning System (GPS) and how it can be used in collecting relevant agricultural data. Students learn about GPS equipment, related field procedures, and preliminary analysis of GPS data. Emphasis is on GPS applications related to mapping and decision making projects. The primary purpose is to demonstrate the various tools available in industry to assist GIS Specialists, Precision Ag Technicians, Agronomists, and Soil Surveyors in collecting accurate field data.
